- 14 November 2002 — the Nasdaq rose 3.69%. No single cause for that one day could be pinned down
- 9 October had been the final low of the whole dot-com unwind. This day sits in the month-long retracement after it
- Around this time the Fed delivered another large rate cut, and it fed through over several sessions
- Advances right off a bottom are usually jagged: big up-days and big down-days alternate
- The retracement stopped in late November. From there the index fell 13.36% again into March the following year
- That March low was the real starting point — a rally of nearly five years began there
