What happened that day?

- The venture mania that had run since 1999 was passing its final peak
- The government said it would announce measures to support venture firms and boost KOSDAQ, and the market surged
- At the time merely announcing an internet-related business plan could send a share price flying
- But this was only days before the US Nasdaq made its top
- The global bubble began deflating within days, and the KOSPI fell until September 2001
